2023 U15 Tribe Team
Purpose
One of the major goals of the Tribe organization is to “Position our players for successful advancement to higher levels including the Mukwonago High School Indians baseball program.” Additionally, the Tribe and the MHS program are a strong supporter of the American Legion baseball program here in Mukwonago. These two excellent programs, the MHS Indians, and Legion provide excellent baseball experiences for our community. The Tribe strives to continuously fill both of these programs with talented baseball players from our organization.
History
With MHS moving to a Spring baseball schedule the Tribe organization sees an opportunity to further strengthen the connection with MHS and Legion baseball by offering an “Academy” level option to supplement these two fine programs.
MHS and Legion baseball do not and in the case of MHS baseball can not hold official Winter baseball workouts with the MHS coaches. This has left many former Tribe players who spent several years with the organization needing to join other “Academy” baseball programs in order to have access to indoor facilities. Now that the Tribe has a partnership with the OAW indoor facility, a higher end baseball facility in the area, we believe we can offer a high quality and competitive U15 option to our community.
Offerings
The Tribe U15 team will have access to extended time at the OAW facility and MHS South Gym as well as additional options for hitting during the Winter months. Once the MHS season begins the Tribe practices would discontinue until the MHS season ends (usually mid June at the latest). When the MHS season ends the Tribe team would again begin practicing and playing several tournaments, likely up until August (Fall Ball would also be offered).
One of the current challenges for our Legion team is that the players from our community that now play with other organizations often have competing schedules with Legion games. The U15 Tribe team would coordinate with the Legion schedule to minimize any conflicts. This will provide a much more reliable and interconnected experience, leading to better players, better baseball.

Process
- Tryouts are open now through July 16. The selection of this team will be done using the video tryout process and is open to anyone in the age group.
- The Coach for this team will be selected by the Tribe Board. Paid position specific coaching staff will be brought in (Pitching, infield, catchers, etc.)
- The cost to participate on this team will be substantially more than the current fees for u14. We are actively working with OAW on pricing and frequency of indoor time but expect the cost to be around $1500 - $2,000 per player. This will include substantially more indoor time and 4-6 high level regional tournaments.
- The intention of this team will be to play top level teams from around the region (surrounding states).
- Travel will be expected for tournaments, some tournaments may be local.
- You do not need to play for MHS or Legion to play for the Tribe u15 team. We understand that the three teams will likely not be identical but the goal is to provide an option to MHS and Legion players.
- Who is eligible? Players with birth date on or after May 1, 2007.
- The Tribe will evaluate expanding the program to U16 and U17 for the 2024 season.
